Our paths crossed at the right time.

We were both looking for something more and found each other when we least expected it. As most modern romances begin, we met online (on Tinder). There was an immediate connection: David asked deep and thought-provoking questions before even meeting; Kenny offered to be 'bold' and ask David out on a date (to which David replied, 'Please be bold').

Our first date, at Café Riggs in Washington, DC, ended like a scene out of a romantic comedy: walking in the rain, kissing under an umbrella at the top of the escalators at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. It felt ridiculous... but right.

Things moved quickly but, as with the first date, it all felt natural. We met each other's families and travelled to Australia within six months of being together. When David asked Kenny to move in, Kenny - who swore he would never move in with anyone ever again - didn't hesitate. And when Kenny asked David to marry him on their anniversary on a rooftop in Paris, David said, 'Yes.'
